Once there was a snow man

Once there was a snow man tall, tall, tall!

In the sun he melted small, small, small!!

Even with several inches on snow remaining in our back yard the masterpiece of snow sculpture has dwindled and the evidence of a several days with temps above freezing is clear. Something about a rag, a bone and a hank of hair - or, in this case, a couple of twigs, carrots, scarf and hat. And that's about all. And yes, we did have several robins in our trees the other day. Not a whole lot of singing going on but they were there. Perhaps it means spring will soon be in the air!

Celebrating Jo Anne!

On January 13th mom's youngest sister and only living sibling turned 80. We celebrated with a surprise (well, not so much - Jo's a hard one to fool) b'day party for all of her nieces and nephews who live along the Wasatch Front. We had a great time visiting and catching up. It's been a long time since some of us had seen each other - and the younger crowd met 2nd cousins they'd never seen.

Jo is still going strong as our resident kitchen guru (she canned cases and cases of tomato juice and peaches this past summer), as well as continuing to serve as the director of her stake's extraction center. You would never guess she had major back surgery this time last year. She keeps us all hopping and is amazin' to say the least!
p.s. Pete really was there - he was busy TAKING the pictures!
